I was looking to refinance in March because of the rate drops, but I wasn't too hopeful because we only had the home for 10 months. I was applying with two other lenders when my real estate agent recommended Dave. I applied with Dave without mentioning any details of the previous offers. Dave gave me a better rate, lower monthly payments, lower closing costs, and lower overall loan cost. One of the other lenders respectively bowed-out while the other countered with an even lower rate. Dave matched that rate with thousands of dollars less in closing costs.
Dave and team members from NBKC explained everything on the estimate and how each number could be impacted moving forward. He quoted us about $300 a month in savings initially, but then our appraisal was lower than expected. Fortunately it didn't impact the estimate at all! Once the application was finalized Dave was saving us $440 a month! Nothing from closing costs increased and in fact everything went down! I know not everyone can get the same results, but everything worked out great for me until closing.
Because of COVID-19 we opted to have a online closing and the notary had significant issues correctly signing the documents. Signatures were missing everywhere and I had no idea until the day before the loan pay-off date. There was a long email chain among NBKC staff until they finally looped Dave in on it. Dave quickly notified me of the issue so we could schedule another signing and close just a little later than planned. He also provided me the loan information so I could register online for automatic payments well before receiving a letter from NBKC.
Dave was 100% transparent about the process from the start. He gave us a great first offer and then beat the counter offers. He was very easy to contact (phone, email, texting, etc.) despite the huge increase in refinance applications. He was involved with every aspect of the process and did a sublime job. I plan on going to Dave when we move and if we buy any rental properties in the future. Thank you so much Dave!
