“I wanted to take a moment to express my appreciation for my Loan Originator, Beau Langdon. Beau did an exceptional job at guiding me through the loan process. He made me feel confident and fully supported while I applied for my first mortgage. I originally found NBKC through Google and Nerd Wallet. When I read the online reviews, I knew that NBKC would be a top contender for my VA loan. When I was nearly ready to apply, I went through the beginnings of the loan application to identify the documents and information needed. I didn’t submit the application and planned to return to it when I had all of the required information. Within fifteen minutes of closing out of my browser, I received a text message, an email, and a phone call from Beau thanking me for considering NBKC and to contact him with any questions. I returned his email with, “wow, you guys are fast” and explained that I would be ready to complete the application within a few days time, along with what I was hoping to achieve, and the timeframe that I wanted to close. He restated that he would be able to answer any questions and was looking forward to working with me. My first impression with Beau was that of complete comfort and trust. I’m a first time home buyer, I only know so much, and one can only do so much googling! Not all information about lending, especially VA loans, is available online. Throughout the entire process, Beau took the time to answer my questions. He regularly checked-in and provided me with real-time updates. On several occasions, I recall sending Beau emails on a weekend or at an odd time. Within the hour, I had a response to my question and an acknowledgment to my email submissions. He also was a huge advocate for me when it came to misinformation communicated to me by my realtor. He reached out to the seller’s realtor when my own was slacking in his duties. My realtor was hired to take me through the buying process, but it was Beau who not only identified my realtor’s errors, but also explained concepts, terms, and processes that were part of my realtor’s responsibilities. The mortgage process is stressful enough, however, Beau made it as smooth and painless as possible. I could literally provide at least ten more examples of how Beau impressed me with his exceptional customer service skills, but it would be shorter to just say that he has a customer for life, and I will refer anyone looking to start the mortgage process to Beau. Quick to Close, Delays with Refunds

“Loan closed as planned. NBKC handled it like most lenders would. They use sales tactics for a refi as “you won’t make your next months payment and have your escrow refunded within 14 days”. My mortgage was on autopay and NBKC won’t allow you to cancel the autopay within 14 days of the withdrawal. 24 days later, and I haven’t seen the +3k refund. Reach out to lender, and it’s “call this department, you can find out quicker than me”. Frustrating. It makes you feel like “we got our money, figure your stuff out on your own”. Other than that, the process was easy.”

I taught English to elementary schoolchildren in Japan after I graduated college.
