Get to know April

What is your motto or personal mantra?

Be such a beautiful person that people desire to be around you.

What is your favorite sports team?

The team that’s winning!

What is something that people would be surprised if they knew about you?

I have a few friends in the country music industry.

What’s your alma mater?

None – straight out of high school and thrown to the wolves. I went to work immediately after high school.

What is on your bucket list?

Touch up on my piano skills, own a bar/grill on a beach and live in Italy three months of the year.

What aspect of your job are you most passionate about?

My first home buying experience was the pits. The home buying process should not be painful. I’m passionate about what I do; I take pride on educating future buyers about their loan options and enjoy helping buyers navigate the loan process.

Where did you grow up?

Kokomo, IN – it’s not warm there, don’t let the song fool you.

What are some of your hobbies?

Finding off-beaten places to travel with my husband, discovering new music/bands, going to music concerts (Red Rocks is the best), enjoying the pool/lake/beach, hanging with Gunner, our English Cream Golden Retriever, and just enjoying life!

Before working at nbkc, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?

Too many to name but one stands out - before the mortgage industry I once worked for a criminal defense attorney; it was my job to make sure that certain individuals showed up for court appearances. I spent a lot of time searching for and tracking down a lot of people; and now my detective skills are pretty good!
